Following a strong winter season in 2006, the ice melt market is back to even supply, after a mild winter in 2005, where product was more available. Stability in natural gas and energy have allowed pricing to remain similar to last year. It is projected by experts in the field, that if demand is high during the 2007-2008 Ice Melt season, the supply may become tight again.
Due to these conditions, it is recommended that customers exercise their pre-buy options, and focus on keeping material at their site.
